Pura Gunung Kawi

Pura Gunung Kawi Temple, is an ancient monument which is expected to be made in the XI century. This temple is located in the village Tampaksiring, in crossing the road to Pura Tirta Empul. From the intersection, berbeloklah eastward and stopped in a parking lot. From there you must walk down the path towards the river Pakerisan. The distance is about 700 meters from the parking area. With a normal step, you only need about 25 minutes to the location.
Before you get to the temple complex, you'll pass through an arch-shaped tunnel. The gate is not arranged in the form of buildings, but a rocky cliff with a hole. After passing through the gate, then we met with two groups of temples carved in stone cliff Rock. Rows of these temples are located in western and eastern rivers Pakerisan. The building which is a tomb reliefs of the king's younger brother Children Wungsu, ruler of Bali which is the younger brother of King Airlangga who ruled East Java.
Temple is the most right at the tomb to-ten, by experts purkala, regarded as the tomb of prime minister because there labeled rakryan word that means the minister. While the locals think of it as home pastor who served the king of that era.

Access
Gunung Kawi temple complex located about 45 kilometers from Kuta. You can find it easily because it is situated not far from the main roadtowards the area Tampaksiring .
